Congress faces internal strife as returning leaders spark tension within ranks amid ongoing elections in Telangana. The atmosphere within the Telangana Congress is charged with tension as leaders returning to the party face resistance from local cadres. The influx of leaders from other parties, aimed at bolstering the party’s prospects in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, has sparked uproar and internal conflict.

In Adilabad, the arrival of leaders like Indrakaran Reddy, a former BRS member and minister, who joined Congress after leaving office, has intensified dissent within the party. The district Congress committee president, Srihari Rao, strongly opposes such inductions, leading to clashes of opinion within the party ranks.

Moreover, the recent entry of former DCC leader Sajid Khan and others, who were previously suspended from the party, has further divided the Kandi group. This has prompted expressions of anger and threats of mass resignations from opposing factions within the party.

The situation escalated to the point where effigies of the returning leaders were burnt, reflecting the deep-seated tensions and disagreements within the Telangana Congress. TPCC Working President Jaggareddy announced a temporary halt on further inductions in Adilabad, following directives from the party’s state affairs in-charge, Deepadas Munshi.

As the party grapples with internal strife amidst crucial elections, the challenges of maintaining unity and coherence become paramount, threatening to undermine its electoral prospects in the region.
